Children in our Reception year benefit from an enhanced education with a focus on Literacy and Mathematics, plus plenty of expressive Arts and Design projects.

CURRICULUM
In Reception, we aim to provide pupils with a broad and well-balanced curriculum. Learning is primarily based on play and exploration with termly topics to keep young imaginations inspired.
We use the popular Read Write Inc. scheme to provide a structured and systematic approach to teaching literacy and to encourage children to develop their reading skills. To develop their numeracy skills, we use the White Rose Maths scheme. As well as learning core subjects, we teach children the importance of physical, intellectual, creative and emotional skills.
Our experienced teachers deliver an enhanced version of the Early Years Statutory Framework (EYSF). These are seven areas of learning and development that are inter-connected and designed to spark children’s curiosity and love of learning, in preparation for their lifelong educational journey:
